Coralie's Room

We seem to be on the verge of labor. I got checked yesterday by the midwife and she said I was 3 to 4 cm dilated and 80% effaced. She said the head was right there and ready and that if contractions start not to wait around till I feel like I need to push, just head straight to the hospital cause I've done all the slow stuff already. Wow, that sure was easy! I'm feeling good today, no contractions or anything, just sorta waiting feeling like they could start at any moment. I was kinda hoping my water would break in some awesome place where I could make a huge scene and have a great story to tell. So far, no broken water.
So yesterday and today we've been getting the last minute things in order, putting the car seat in the car, packing our bag and I've been putting a few last touches on her room. Granted she won't really be using her room much when she first comes but I also probably won't have the time or energy to finish everything after she comes so I'm motivated now.  So here's the "not completely finished but mostly there" tour of my baby girl's room:

So clearly my color scheme was yellow, gray and turquoise. This room was formally my office as you can see in this post, and I had painted it a creamy yellow back almost two years with the secret hope that one day I'd be decorating it for a little girl. I started with the bedding, couldn't find anything I liked so I went to fabric store(multiple times) and choose patterns and colors I liked and decided I could make my own. The quilt was a pretty simple quilt and for the bed skirt I simple used Logan's old crib skirt and cut it apart to use as a pattern. Then for the crib bumper basically all I had to do was measure and create a super long pillow case for Logan's old one which I simply just covered and sewed closed :) I did buy the sheet, wasn't gonna mess with sewing a fitted sheet and all that elastic!

The crib was a hand me down from Jon's sister and I love it, and I chose all white furniture to go with it. The glider was a thrift store find which my sister, Carley and I recovered the cushions and added the buttons. The artwork over the crib is one of my favorite parts of the room. They are three of my favorite pictures from a book that I grew up reading and I simply framed them with some of the same fabric as the glider.

I still have a few things to do for the closet, I'd like to organize it in a way that will allow me to store some of my craft and sewing items in the corner, possibly with a little work space for my sewing machine as well. We'll see if I can make that work. The dresser and night stand I got off craigs list and still need some touching up and new knobs. I'd also like to tweek the curtain I made as well, but for now it works.
Logan is excited but I still am not sure he knows exactly how much his life is about to change. I probably don't know exactly how my life is about to change either :)
